TESTING MACHINES

Testing machine FTM-HT

  • Main technical data: -high-temperature fatigue tests of specimens made of ceramic and carbon-carbon (C-C) composite materials.
  • Test types - tension, bending.
  • Temperature range - from 20 up to 1800 oC.
  • Test environment - vacuum

Principles of operation:

  • Mechanical loading of test specimens  is realized by the electrodynamic vibrator in oscillation mode. Static loading system provides obtaining an asymmetric loading cycle.
  • Fatigue bending tests  are carried out in the resonance oscillation mode of specimens.
  • Fatigue tension tests are  realized in the forced oscillation mode of specimens under asymmetrical loading cycle (with initial static preloading).

 Main technical data:
  • maximum buoyancy force of the electrodynamic vibrator - 4000 N;
  • maximum value of static load -3000 N;
  • error of static load measurement is ± 0.5 %;
  • error of cycle amplitude measurements in fatigue tension tests is ± 1 %;
  • error of bending moment measurements is ± 3 %;
  • total error of  maintaining temperature in the working area of specimen is ± 1%.

 

   
Testing Features
  • Reduction of parasitic bending moment in tension of a specimen due to special grips design.
  • Providing sufficient mechanical stresses for failure of specimens in bending tests by using  added masses.
  • Performing testing process in manual or completely PC-controlled modes.

FTM-HT Software

The program TFATIGUE provides realization of fatigue tension tests in an automatic mode and allows to perform the following operations:
  • Setting of loading cycle parameters in the frequency range from 40 to 100 Hz;
  • Measuring and logging of loading cycle parameters;
  • Maintenance of static loading component with the built-in controlled electromechanical drive;
  • Maintenance of dynamic loading component;
  • Processing and acquisition of test data;
  • Plotting of fatigue curves.

 

Program BFATIGUE provides realization of fatigue bending tests in the frequency range from 100 to 1000 Hz and allows to perform the following operations:
  • Searching for resonant frequency of a specimen;
  • Resonant frequency tracking in heating of a specimen;
  • Maintenance of  a specified value of the bending moment and maximum stresses in the specimen working section;
  • Processing and acquisition of test data;
  • Plotting of fatigue curves.
