TESTING MACHINES

Torsion testing machine TTM-200*

  • Application - torsion tests of metal specimens and wires.
  • Measured values -  torque, rotation angle of active grip;
  • Test conditions - room temperature, air environment.
Design features
  •  Machine design is based on a dual linear guide lines which provide high torsion stiffness and minimal axial friction;
  • Torque is imposed to the cross section of a specimen by the active and passive grips. The passive grip can be either fixed on linear guide lines or  freely moved along them. In last case, an axial preload to the specimen can be applied;
  • Precision encoder sensor for measurement of rotation angle of active grip;
  • Three built-in torque cells (2, 20, 200 N·m) for tests of specimens and a wire with various diameter;
  • Using set of precision collet clamps and cam locks for tests of specimens and a wire with various diameter.

     

Main technical data:
  • Torque capacity – 200 N·m;
  • Error of  torque measurements - no more ± 0,5 %;
  • Resolution of measurements of rotation angle of active grip – 0.14 ang. min.;
  • Maximal working length of a specimen – 445 mm;
  • Maximal test speed – 60 rpm;
  • Maximal axial preload – 200 N;
  • Overall dimension 1340*1000*625 mm (without taking into account a computer table);.
  • Weight - no more 250 kg.


TTM-2 Software

The program TorsionTest provides completely automated realization of torsion tests of metal samples and carries out such functions:
  • Performance of prior operations and torsion tests in a strict sequence which excludes operator mistakes or reduces them to the minimum;
  • Auto-setting of zero torque after installation of a specimen in grips;
  • Changing of test speed over a wide range sufficient for registration of the torsion diagram either in its initial elastic zone and in the yield and hardening zones;
  • Graphic representation of torsion diagrams during test with auto-scaling in real time;
  • Preview and saving of the test results and parameters;
  • Printing of torsion diagrams and other results of tests.
The program TorsionCalc provides full calculation of mechanical characteristics of samples of round (solid and pipe) cross sections at torsion according to GOST 3565-80:
  • Proportional limit;
  • Shear modulus;
  • Yield strength;
  • Shear strength;
  • Modulus of rupture in torsion;
  • True ultimate strength.
